Camp Hill and Harrisburg April 2, 2013
Welcome to the library - any library. They have
always felt like my home away from home.
I'll be visiting dozens as I tour Pennsylvania for
PA One Book 2013 with my book, The Bus For Us.
What an honor to be able to share with pre-schoolers and their families the work and joy that goes into making a book.
Many thanks to Mary Alice and Micki, Candy and Brie and many others who made it a rousing good first stop.
The princess and the frontloader.
Harrisburg was all about homeschoolers. Together we fabricated an unusual story
as I drew what the students suggested. It involved a boy reading, a miniature
magician, a rabbit, cat, mouse. Did I leave anything out?
Thank you Susan P., Anne K. and Beth H. Hi to Simone and the boys.
READING and RIDING April 3, 2013
TWO DRIVING FORCES - Lydia the librarian and Cara the driver with Gus and Tess ready to ride on the Columbia County Traveling Library. What a great day as we bounced our way from Bloomsburg to Danville to Mifflinville to Berwick to Orangeville. Without the arranging, time keeping and skills of Lydia and Cara, I couldn't have made it from place to place...not on time, anyway. There were some spectacular sparkly cowgirl boots at Sunnyhill and some budding authors and illustrators as well. <Bloomsburg library Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville> In Berwick we were greeted by Lisette O. and the reading community. The families who had gathered for a story were treated to hearing it read in Spanish by Xiamara and Tabea. It is exciting to hear "fire engine" in Spanish because you can growl out the words and it sounds like a truck revving up its motor - "un camion de bomberos". Our last stop of the day was Orangeville, where I met Eric. He askes great questons. Check out his blog www.thiskidreviewsbooks.com Hi Pam; ) I'll get back to you next week as I travel to Warren and work my way east. |
Thanks for the shout-out Ms. Bloom! :D It was great to meet you!
ReplyDeleteIt was surely a pleasure meeting you Suzanne. Your stop in Camp Hill will always be a cherished memory. Thank you.
